BILATERAL MEETING IN HUNGARY

In the last week of February, as part of the now-traditional visit to twin towns and municipalities organised by the Friends of Europe Tisno Association and the Municipality of Tisno, a delegation of 16 students, accompanied by their teachers, a well as two kindergarten teachers spent amazing five days in Nagycenk, Hungary with the entire programme meticulously prepared by the Friends of Europe Nagycenk Association.

Children and their teachers explored István Széchenyi Primary School and the Croatian community school in Koljnof (Kópháza), participating in classes, quizzes, and local dance workshops. Meanwhile, kindergarten teachers got an insight into how early childhood education works in these villages.

The experience continued with visits to local museums, churches, and a horse farm, followed by an exploration of the breathtaking Fertő-Hanság National Park, where they had the opportunity to appreciate the area’s rich nature and wildlife.

Delegates also explored history and culture in the beautiful city of Sopron, before heading to Vienna for a guided tour through its iconic historic center and a fun afternoon at Prater amusement park.

Bilateral meetings like this one held in Hungary are essential for building strong connections, promoting learning, and facilitating cooperation on a variety of projects. They provide an opportunity for municipalities to share best practices and work together across different fields and organisations, strengthening our network and upholding the Charter’s spirit.

If you are planning a bilateral meeting, please feel free to inform us by sending all the details to secretary@europeancharter.eu.
